P.J. Hoerr University Forum - Lean Construction
This morning Project
Management/Estimator/Executive staffs of the
company gathered for another P.J. Hoerr University forum, this time
focused on Lean Construction presented by P.J. Hoerr Project Manager
Brian Myers. In two weeks the forum will be held for Project
Superintendents.
Landmark Healthcare Facilities, LLC. Medical Office Building - Springfield, IL
P.J. Hoerr was recently awarded this $7.5 million, 91,600 square foot Medical Office Building Core and Shell package for Landmark Healthcare Facilities LLC located in Springfield, IL.
Today layout was underway for the concrete caisson installation that will begin soon. Caissons (also sometimes called “piers”) are created by auguring a
deep hole into the ground, and then filling it with concrete. Steel
rebar reinforcement is then utilized for a portion of the length of the
caisson.The caisson foundations carry the building loads at their lower ends.

Bradley University - Baker Hall Demolition - Peoria, IL
P.J.
Hoerr, Inc. is the General Contractor of the demo phase. The demolition
will lead to construction of a new business and engineering complex on
the hilltop. The new facility will be constructed along Main
Street and will replace not only Baker Hall, but also the current Jobst
Hall on the Bradley campus. The new complex will house the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology and the Foster College of Business.
