On April 5, 2018 P.J. Hoerr/Summit Masonry held their first quarterly
safety meeting at Five Points Washington. Lindy's Market of Washington
catered the buffet dinner. Bob Hoerr, CEO welcomed everyone and
reiterated how important it was going to be to be focused on safety
given all of the work that the company would be performing over the
coming months. Hans Hinrichsen then gave a brief overview of the
company's safety performance year to
date. The meeting was then turned over to our special guest speaker Bill
Nienaber from West Bend Insurance, the company's insurance carrier.
Bill gave an overview of heat exposure issues within construction...what
to look for and how to prevent, mitigate or treat it. He also showed
pictures and narratives from various accidents that had occurred around
the country and talked of how they could have been prevented. Hans and
Bob then presented the quarterly safety incentive awards to qualifying
superintendents. Bob finished the meeting by talking about the
importance of a personal and a corporate reputation and how each team
member has the ability to either enhance or detract from our corporate
reputation.
