Last
evening March 31st P.J. Hoerr/Summit Masonry held their quarterly Safety
Meeting at the Five Points Washington meeting facility. Dinner was catered by
Lindy’s Market in Washington. Approximately 100 were in attendance. To start
off the meeting Corporate Safety Director Hans Hinrichsen discussed mobile
scaffold safety as well as providing training on the new OSHA standards for
working in confined spaces. After the presentation Project Superintendent
individual safety incentive checks were distributed. To wrap up CEO Bob Hoerr
used the example of the just passed Easter season and Jesus’s great commission
to his apostles just prior to his ascension to go and spread the gospel
throughout the world. Bob emphasized the importance of everyone in the
business being an “apostle for safety” in helping to spread the gospel of
safety to all corners of the organization on a daily basis in order to insure a
culture of safe work practices that is permanent and enduring.
