P.J. Hoerr Quarterly Safety Meeting | Fall Protection User Awareness Training - Peoria, IL

Last night December 3^rd P.J. Hoerr/Summit held their quarterly Safety Meeting at the Peoria P.J. Hoerr shop facilities. Approximately 100 were in attendance. To start off the meeting Corporate Safety Director Hans Hinrichsen discussed P.J. Hoerr and Summit's current safety performance then showed some project safety spotlights from current job sites. Next Brett Stimpson a Product Specialist who represents Werner Ladders and Fall Protection gave a presentation on Fall Protection regulations, harness/lanyard/anchor types and proper harness fitting. He also had a volunteer come up to get fitted into a harness and hoisted into the air to demonstrate how to maneuver into the harness's sub-pelvic strap in the event of a fall.

After the presentation superintendent individual safety incentive checks were distributed. The meeting concluded with remarks by company CEO Bob Hoerr who emphasized the importance of safety knowledge and performance in maintaining competitiveness in a challenging economic environment and the need to focus our attention on those things within our control. He ended the meeting by quoting the expression that “life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning how to dance in the rain.”
