Make-A-Wish Foundation

Make-A-Wish Child, Dalton, has been diagnosed with a rare soft tissue cancer known as Synovial Sarcoma. Dalton wished for a fishing boat so he could fish for bass, crappie and blue gill. Make-A-Wish purchased a boat and trailer from Bass Pro Shop. The tackle and poles were donated by Big R in Washington. He has been in the hospital since August 1, but today, September 4^th he was strong enough to leave the hospital to go fishing in his boat. The crew (Mom, Dad, wish granters Joi, and Mary Durdel, and boat/fishing guide Tim Durdel) took Dalton out for the whole day! Dalton started out catching fish on the dock, resting awhile, and then getting in the boat to fish some more. He caught several fish throughout the day. He also enjoyed sitting in the sun with the light breeze on his face. We stopped at Dairy Queen so Dalton could have a root beer float for the hour ride back to the hospital. By the smile on his face, we could see his wish had been granted.
