RLI Corp. – Corporate Operations Center and Campus Improvements Peoria, IL

PAST PERFORMANCE - Changing business needs and a desire to modernize employee work environments created a need for a new Operations Center at RLI Insurance’s North Peoria campus. RLI Corp., a NYSE-traded (RLI), S&P Small 600 Company that was started in Peoria, also wanted to enhance their corporate campus and create an attractive work environment for current and future employees. To begin the process, RLI interviewed several of Central Illinois’ largest and best construction management firms. P.J. Hoerr was chosen to help them plan, design and then construct the new facility.

The two story, 40,000 sq. ft. building houses several departments and was designed with employee input to increase workplace efficiency and comfort. The exterior architecture reflects the recently renovated corporate office and expand on a unique corporate aesthetic. Major site improvements included the redesign of traffic flows and incorporating the land into the corporate campus with landscaping and parking improvements. In addition, other streets were rebuilt and parking additions constructed for adjacent businesses.

P.J. Hoerr worked with the architects and engineers during the design process to develop a multi-phase schedule, investigate material options, develop and update budgets and provide cost saving opportunities.
