Field Perspective

As a way to show a different perspective of work being done here at P.J. Hoerr and Summit Masonry, I will from time to time feature a montage of photos taken in the field by either the Project Manager or Project Superintendent running a particular job.

Clinton Elementary School - Summit Masonry - Clinton, IL

First United Methodist Church - Peoria, IL

LA Fitness - Bloomington, IL

Illinois CancerCare - Peoria, IL

This 22,000 sq ft expansion of Illinois CancerCare is now underway. The current facility is located in north Peoria on Route 91. The project will include expanded research facilities and administrative offices, as well as renovations to a large portion of the existing structure. This additional operating space will expedite diagnosis and treatment of patients. The current entrance will also be widened for easier patient access.

P.J. Hoerr, Summit Masonry and Farmer's Insurance Golf Outing to Benefit the March of Dimes

The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy to save babies and in 2003 launched a campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth.

For more information, visit the March of Dimes Website at marchofdimes.com or it's Spanish language Website at nacersano.org

On August 22nd , P.J. Hoerr, Summit Masonry and Farmer's Insurance held their annual golf outing to benefit this worthy mission. The Peoria-Area business community came together to play 18 holes of golf at Metamora Fields in Metamora, IL. Lunch was served and some great raffle prizes were handed out.

P.J. Hoerr and Summit feel privileged and honored to be able to host this magnificent event each year and are grateful to all who turned out to support it.

Jim Sharav

We at P.J. Hoerr, Inc. mourn the loss of one of our most longstanding, loyal and dedicated team members, Jim Sharav. In his 20 years with our company Jim truly epitomized the essence of professionalism and class in all that he did. He was not just an employee, peer and colleague… he was a friend. Although his retirement years and life were cut far too short those who knew him can rest in the knowledge that he filled that unfinished life with days, months and years of commitment to community and others as well as an unbridled passion for life. Rest eternally in the arms and peace of God Jim. You will be missed.

Washington Community High School Summer 2011 Renovations

This project consisted of the renovation of various existing spaces throughout the high school over the Summer of 2011 in advance of a significant building addition in the Fall of 2011. Work for this project coincided with a separate asbestos abatement project over a fifty five day period in the Summer of 2011 and was coordinated through P.J. Work in the 1955 East addition included installation of new aluminum storefront window systems, suspended ceiling installation and VCT floor tile installation, as well as installation of light fixtures and plumbing fixtures. Also included in that portion of the building was painting and patching of existing walls where required.  The 1955 South Addition included renovation of the Family and Consumer Sciences department including suspended ceiling installation, VCT floor tile installation, light fixture and plumbing fixture installation, removal and replacement of existing casework, and expansion of the air conditioning system. Work also included total building demolition of a portion of the 1955 East addition (in advance of the planned building addition) and installation of temporary weather tight enclosures at the resulting openings and along the face of the exposed block wall.
