P.J. Hoerr Quarterly Safety Meeting | Installation & Use of Construction Scaffolding - Peoria, IL

On Thursday, November 17th P.J. Hoerr and Summit Masonry held their quarterly safety meeting at the PJ Hoerr shop building. Approximately 110 were in attendance.  CEO Bob Hoerr welcomed everyone and then turned the meeting over to Safety Director Hans Hinrichsen. Hans began by overviewing the safety record of the companies' year to date.  He then talked about some of the safety challenges and situations he had viewed since the time of the last meeting. Hans then had a 45 minute training session on the proper installation and use of construction scaffolding. An example structure was erected in the shop and used to point out various aspects of scaffold safety. The presentation was supplemented with various pictorial examples and input by audience members.

After superintendent safety awards were handed out Bob Hoerr concluded the meeting by using the recent events of the 15 year commemoration of the 9/11 terrorist attack and the presidential election to emphasize the importance of corporate unity in addressing the challenge of job site safety. He talked of the importance of everyone needing to be on the same page and fully committed to the cause of insuring safe job sites. He also talked of the new proactive review procedures being implemented to insure that job hazards are identified prior to execution and that appropriate remediation and protective methods are put into place.

Bob concluded the meeting by expressing his gratefulness for God's blessings upon the company over the past year and wishing everyone a blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas/New year's holiday.
