Field Perspective

As a way to show a different perspective of work being done here at P.J. Hoerr and Summit Masonry, I will from time to time feature a montage of photos taken in the field by either the Project Manager or Project Superintendent running a particular job.

The Project Manager of this addition sent over these progress photos of steel going up.

P.J. Hoerr Supports - Peoria to Memphis St. Jude Rides

“St. Jude Rides – Peoria to Memphis” began with a conversation between a couple of good friends. Co-founders Mike McCoy and Brad Wiebler had an idea of one more way to raise money for their favorite charity, St. Jude. Brad and his wife, Angie (Event Coordinators) and Mike and Sherianne McCoy began to plan for year number 1 of what they hoped to be a long and prosperous event. The ride, modeled after the St. Jude Run, also founded by McCoy, began in 2007.

P.J. Hoerr employees Ed Eden and wife Kristy and Dan Woosley and wife Pam have participated in the ride for years.

Calvary United Methodist Church - Normal, IL

Client Testimonial

Mr. Hoerr

It has been such a blessing to work with the staff of P.J. Hoerr on both building projects of Calvary United Methodist Church. With John Moses at the helm, ably assisted by Max Dirker, we had a remarkably positive experience with the recently completed Phase II addition. Their knowledge, expertise and overall professionalism was of great value to us throughout the project in ways too numerous to mention. We are extremely pleased with the new facility and know it will be a valuable addition to our ministry for years to come.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the work of Brian Eddy, site superintendent. Brian was a joy to work with, and being on site every day of construction, he came into contact with numerous church employees and members. Brian was always helpful and responsive; a real asset to your organization and to the building activity at Calvary.

Thanks again for your partnership in building up His kingdom.

Nathan Zeltwanger - Estimator

Mr. Zeltwanger began his career as an Estimator/Project Manager for Knapp Concrete. While working at Knapp he gained experience in all aspects of construction and the life of a sub contractor. He learned how to work with customers, bid projects large and small, set up jobs, order materials, and complete punch lists. He completed numerous projects for Wal-Mart, Buffalo Wild Wings, Versa Press, Gordman’s, Springfield Airport, Peoria Airport, and Central Illinois Regional Airport to name a few. His responsibilities included preparing estimates and managing of projects to completion.

After 4.5 years at Knapp Concrete he was approached by Premier Fabrication, a steel fabrication supplier, with a need in estimating because of growth. He accepted the position and was placed in charge of structural steel estimating for Premier. While at Premier he worked on numerous projects for Heartland Community College, SIU Edwardsville, Advocate BroMenn, Lincoln Land Community College, and numerous other projects. He also learned the aspects of being a custom supplier in the construction industry. He learned the importance of shop drawings, sequencing, working with installation contractors, and how critical it is to deliver a quality product on time.

In February 2012, Nate joined the P.J. Hoerr team  as an estimator. His previous experience working on the sub-contractor and supplier side have helped with estimating as a general contractor as well as many of the self-perform items that P.J. Hoerr performs.  His resume of projects includes many in the area of healthcare, medical research, higher education, commercial, industrial, and residential projects. He enjoys organizing events and competitions with his coworkers and friends.  To add to his busy schedule, Nate has also served his community on Eureka City Council, Eureka/Goodfield Fire Protection District as an EMT, and CEGCYRA his local youth recreation board.
